509 Hydroponic Shelves Prepared for Urban Farming Activators

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency distributes 509 hydroponic shelves to those who want to become urban farming activators.

We want them to make Jakarta greener

Of the 509 shelves, 200 out of them have been distributed to the karang taruna. They had undergone technical mentoring session (bimtek) about urban farming some time ago.

"We want them to make Jakarta greener. In addition, the farming results will be very beneficial for them, families and environment," disclosed Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency Head, Darjamuni, Friday (10/25).

After receiving the aid, they soon started the planting process in November, like vegetables.

Similar aid will also distributed to the PKK cadres this year in order to intensify urban farming as part of efforts to realize food security in the capital.

"300 hydroponic shelves have been prepared for them in December. As for the nine other shelves will be dedicated to other activators," he told.

Agriculture Division Acting Head Suharini Eliawati added the aid provided also includes seeds to other supporting equipments.

"We continue to give assistance to maximize the harvest results," she closed.
